Ideally, you should clean your coffee maker every few months, or at least once a month if you use it daily. You can clean it more frequently if you notice any build-up on the interior surfaces or if your coffee doesn’t taste as good as usual.
Cleaning your coffee maker is simple, and only takes a few minutes. Follow these steps:
1. Unplug the coffee maker and remove any removable parts, such as the carafe, filter basket, and drip tray.
2. Wash the carafe and drip tray in hot, soapy water, and rinse well. If your drip tray is dishwasher-safe, you can also run it through a cycle on your dishwasher.
3. Wipe down the control panel with a damp cloth to remove any Coffee oil residue before cleaning further inside the machine 4.Fill the reservoir with equal parts water and white vinegar and run a brew cycle without adding any coffee grounds. The vinegar will help to remove hard-water deposits and Coffee oil from the interior surfaces of your machine. Discard the vinegar solution after running a brew cycle.
5. Rinse out the reservoir with fresh water several times to remove all traces of vinegar before adding fresh water for brewing Coffee again . Replace any removable parts.
